Picture taken inside the artwork "Blind Light" by the British sculptor Antony Gormley, on display in the Hayward Gallery. Worth a visit.

Since Friday night (late) back in London and I still feel completely jetlagged. I’m having a hard time focussing and I get annoyed for the tiniest thing. Guess I’m not the ideal co-worker today… Thank god I can actually close the door of my office when I’m in London.

My sister turned 30 this weekend and what better way to celebrate this than by visiting your siblings on the other side of the Northsea! Great to see you again Karen en Pieter. I had a fantastic time. Can’t wait to see the kids again next week.

Faust_1Every now and then, you get to experience something special… and special is probably the understatement of the year when describing Faust, the latest production of Punchdrunk.
Because of some magic in scoring last minute tickets, I was able to be immersed in it on Friday night in one of the old warehouse buildings in Wapping, close to where I live. Sadly, they will knock down the building after the production leaves, but at least they got to use it for free for this extraordinary "play".

I’ll leave it up to the experts to give you the normal reviews, but I can only share their opinion when they describe it as brilliant. Imagine running around in a dark 5-story warehouse while wearing a mask, trying to follow the actors, finding scenes of the story, getting a drink from Mephistopheles, walking through an abandoned library, bumping into good and bad angels, …
Then imagine the perfect music to set the scenes and smells that make you feel like you are actually in a movie. I have never been to a performance like this before, but it absolutely took my breath away…

And when they, after the last scene, have an excellent band playing in the "Blues"-bar that is actually part of the decor, and everybody is dancing and drinking, I can only think of trying to find more tickets to go again. It’s also very cool indeed when your company knows the actors and you can stay and have fun with the cast and crew until the early hours… And yes, the hairband of Felix, the director probably was the coolest prop of the entire evening…

Bit silent here lately, I know. But there’s not that much to tell. Just work, work, work.
Next week I’ll be back in Belgium for a couple of days for a seminar in Ghent. I’ll come and listen to some of you "colleague-bloggers" and see if you are as full of s**t in real life as you are online :-). Looking forward to it.
It’s been since Christmas since I’ve been home. And with home I mean Riemst. Time really does go fast. Maybe I’ll even go bowling again. I can’t even remember the last time I was there. And I do have to keep my game up! Especially since I can’t stop daring people to play against me (yes.. me and my big mouth…)

This weekend I have some VIP-guests coming over, but more on that later…

Another fun weekend in London: famous visitors (see pic below, taken by BH), strange but exciting photoshoot in the middle of the night somewhere in the city (see 2nd pic below), fantastic dancing on Saturday night, some work stuff, nicking a t-shirt, watching my first rugby-match (England-Ireland) in an Irish pub etc…

Not so nice: Having my purse stolen…

Finally back home… I left here on the 17th of January, seems like ages ago… I did manage to squeeze one more picture of the New York snow out of my camera from the window of my apartment.

Mmmm, will miss the big city… Better start getting everything in motion for that H1B visa. If everything goes to plan, I could get there in the late summer.

Today, the Gent-entrepreneur has arrived for a couple of days London. I hope he has a good time with his wife here. Strange how easy and fun it is to meet people via blogging.
